Set: 40 years of jewellery design at Central Saint Martins

This exhibition has been organised by the Central Saint Martins Museum. Every year, selected works from graduating students are purchased for the collection. I was lucky enough to have a piece selected when I graduated from BA Jewellery Design in 2001, and even luckier to be chosen to take part in this exhibition. Alongside works from the collection, designers have been asked to submit recent pieces so it will be very interesting to contrast and compare.

The exhibition will run from 12th November to 14th December, Monday to Friday 10am - 6pm and Saturdays (term time) 10am - 4pm.

There will be a catalogue to accompany the exhibition.

In addition to this, many of the samples from the book 'The Colouring, Bronzing and Patination of Metals' (Thames & Hudson) are on show in the gallery window along the side entrance to the Granary. I understand that they are part of the museum collection via Camberwell College. The metal samples are larger than one might imagine, and the iridescent patinas more vivid than can ever be reproduced in print. 

There is also an exhibition of work from current teaching staff on BA Jewellery - I will know more next week and will post again.

For the main exhibition I chose three more recent pieces - Music Box Ring (pictured below), Chain Dentata and a very new piece which I just finished in September and which deserves its own post.
